Written by Administrator

“Fingerboarding,” or skateboarding on a miniature skateboard with your fingers remains a mystery to many adults, so they remain torn about the release of Touchgrind, which has now made its way into the App Store and is available for $4.99 right now. It’s one of those kind of apps that you’re either really into, or isn’t even on your radar.

iPhone 2.2 includes the ability to pipe video for third-party apps

An unpublished part of iPhone’s latest programming framework lets third-party developers pipe video out to an external device, albeit not without a few catches.

iPhone 2.2

Confirmed by Ars Technica, an iPhone technical site, a programming class in the iPhone SDK known as MPTVOutWindow does essentially what its name implies: it sends video out through the Dock Connector port to an outside source, such as an external screen. This was not previously allowed under other versions of the SDK, based on various sources.

Android vs. iPhone: Which Does a Better Job Syncing to the Cloud?
Written by Administrator

iphone_android_ufc.png

The Reviews of the Android G1 Phone on T-Mobile are out and the verdicts are generally as follows: Partly Cloudy1, but forecasting big things to come. We’re not going to try to hit every point just yet, but there’s one point where this “Sidekick for Grownups” has what appears to be a real advantage over everybody else: dead-simple cloud setup.

So compared to the iPhone, just how good is the setup on the G1? The answer is: Depends on whether or not you’re a Gmail type of person.

Yeah, “depends” isn’t exactly a clear answer, so follow us after the break for a bit more on whether the G1 is PIM Push Paradise compared to MobileMe’s Mechanized Movement of information.

iTunes HD TV: Over 1 Million Sold — In the USA!
Written by Administrator

Back during September’s iPod and iTunes focused “Let’s Rock” event, Apple announced that they would begin carrying “stunning” HD TV Shows, and that — surprise surprise — NBC had come skulking back into the fold as well.

Now Apple reports that they have all 4 big US-based television networks: ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC available in HD, and what’s more:

200 million TV episodes sold, including more than one million HD episodes purchased since the launch of HD programming on iTunes last month.

“Purchased” should indicate that they’re not counting the promotional freebies given away at the start of the HD push, right Apple? Since TV is available via cable, satellite, and for free over the air, one million episodes at $3 a shot is pretty impressive.

Of course, Apple and the major networks, and their archaic international licensing systems (wanna talk “bags of hurt”?) mean that there’s currently no HD TV for users outside the US, and still no US network TV for people in countries like Canada. Ahem.

Can we get on that nowish, Mr. Cue?

How Much iPhone 3G Data Are You Using?
Written by Administrator

It’s been a month since the iPhone 3G launched, and unlike the US and a few other countries, not every country — or every user — got unlimited data with their shiny new wonder toy. Some, like Canada and Sweden gave eleventh hour reprieves, but others remain bass akwards and incredibly stingy/gouging with their data rates to this day.

But regardless of your cap (or even if you have no cap), how much data are you using?

iPhone Case Mod makes your Apple glow
Written by Administrator

If you still have a first-gen iPhone but want to spruce it up a bit, maybe a bit of case modification will suit your fancy. At least that’s what a group of Russian modders have decided to do.

This involves replacing the back case with one that allows the Apple logo on the back to glow. Pretty cool looking, if you ask me. Plus, it adds a real sense of symmetry between the iPhone and other Apple products, like MacBooks.
